Monofocal IOLs

There are many types of Intra-Ocular Lenses that will clear the distorted vision of cataracts along with any nearsightedness or farsightedness that you may have.

A standard monofocal IOL will provide excellent vision at one point of focus, usually at a distance.

Aspheric monofocal IOLs can provide a sharper image with better contrast. Aspheric monofocal IOLs reduce the glare and halos around lights which can make driving safer.

Toric monofocal IOLs are also “aspheric” monofocal lenses that can eliminate nearsightedness, farsightedness along with astigmatism.

However, choosing a monofocal IOL to replace your cataract will usually require you to wear glasses or bifocals to see clearly at all distances.
