Laser Vision Correction Surgery
LASIK, or laser in-situ keratomileusis, is a widely popular surgery designed to correct vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism.
The procedure works by reshaping the cornea with precision lasers to properly focus light onto the retina. During LASIK, a laser creates a small flap in the cornea, which is then lifted to allow another laser to reshape the underlying corneal tissue. After the reshaping, the flap is carefully repositioned, completing the surgery.
