After you have your eyes examined and you have made the decision to have cataract surgery.

You will meet with one of our trained surgical coordinators who will create a calendar for you with appointment dates for an Ascan, which measures your eyes. You won’t need to be dilated for the Ascan appointment, but we’ll provide artificial tears beforehand to ensure accurate measurements. These measurements help our coordinators determine the type of lens your doctor will recommend and discuss your options with you. Your calendar will include your surgery date, but not the specific time, as this depends on the surgical center. It will also list the dates and times for your post-operative appointments.

You will receive a prescription for eye drops to start using before your surgery.

We will present a brief educational video that also encourages you to think about any questions you may have.
You will sign your informed consent form for the surgery.

Before your surgery day, the surgical center will contact you to review your medical history, current medications, and their dosages.
